Here are a few of our favorite tours along the coast (I used some of the descriptions from their websites below)! I have been on all of these and can’t recommend them enough!
Lucky Catch (Portland): Come join us for an unforgettable excursion on the waters of Casco Bay while we guide you through the daily routines of a Maine Lobsterman. Participate in the excitement of hauling up the traps or sit back and relax as we cruise near picturesque lighthouses, historic civil war forts, and the “Seal Rocks”. Each of our lobster tours lasts for 80-90 minutes and passenger numbers are limited to ensure that everyone gets an up-close and personal Maine lobstering experience.
Maine Day Ventures (from Kennebunkport to Bar Harbor): Welcome to Maine Day Ventures, formerly Maine Foodie Tours. We offer Culinary Tours, Historical Walks, Gardening Strolls, “Doggie and Me” walks, Oyster Boat Excursions and more! All activities are like adventures. We keep them small, highly interactive and authentic.
Red Cloak (Boothbay and Bar Harbor): From age-old burial grounds to the haunted waterfronts and downtowns of Bar Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, and Camden, our long-time local guides know all the storied places. Raconteurs that relate the most astonishing legends and reports of modern hauntings. They keep Maine as mysterious as it is beautiful. You can expect plenty of history on our walking tours in Maine, as you experience tales of some spirits active for centuries.
Finest Kind (Ogunquit): Finestkind Scenic Cruises, located in picturesque Perkins Cove, has everything you need for an excursion along Ogunquit’s shore. Learn about lobstering and see lobsters caught on board the Finestkind I, take a scenic coastal cruise to the Nubble Lighthouse in York, or a leisurely cocktail cruise in the evening aboard the Finestkind III.
Maine Brews Cruise (Portland): Our all-inclusive tours and experiences provide guests with a behind-the-scenes look at Maine’s craft breweries, distilleries, wineries, and more. Over 35,000 people have been connected to Maine’s craft alcohol producers since tours began almost 10 years ago. Our guests enjoy having an expert guide and often a dedicated driver to lead them to both established and up-and-coming producers. This allows an opportunity to learn much more about the craft alcohol business than could be learned on their own.
Sea Portland (Portland): SeaPortland brings you straight into the heart of authentic Maine. Aboard the Elizabeth Grace and other vessels in our fleet, we show you the parts of Casco Bay unseen by most. We provide experiences that strike at the heart of what makes this part of the world so magical. Join us for boat tours of previously unexplored early nineteenth-century forts. Bathe in the warm lights of a summer sunset over the water. Breathe in the ocean air while viewing Maine’s famous lighthouses. Toast local craft beverages. What could be better?
Wine Wise (Portland): It does not get much better than sipping fine wines while sailing off the coast of Maine in the Summer. Our highly-rated Wine Sails are something special to experience.
Eastport Windjammers (Eastport): This 2-hour cruise leaves the Eastport waterfront and cruises past Old Sow, the largest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere. We go through Head Harbor Passage to East Quoddy Lighthouse and approach the whale feeding groups. Eagles and ospreys soar, while seals and porpoise frolic in the waves. The scenery is truly spectacular!
